Static Nails - Top Coat, Primer & Quick Dry Drops Review

Today I have a review of the Static Nails Primer (their base coat), Top Coat, and their new Quick Dry Drops (in that order because that's how you'll apply them as well๐Ÿ˜‰) to share with you. Remember to use my code MBTracey for 10% off all of your purchases from Static Nails - restrictions apply. ๐Ÿ˜Š

But before we get to all of that, can I just say that Creme Brulee, shown here in my swatches, is SO BEAUTIFUL?! ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ This is 2 perfect coats between a coat of Primer and a coat of Top Coat and it's just magical and makes me feel like I have gorgeous false nails on because they are THAT flawless! If you've read my other posts, you know that I sort of love Static Nails lacquer so very very much for this very reason! Spoiler alert: this polish came from the Perfect Nudes Palette that I will be swatching and share with you in the not-too-distant future. ๐Ÿ˜‡

Ok, let's get into the reviews now ๐Ÿ˜

First up is my review of Primer, their base coat. It comes in a small round glass 12 oz bottle with a high shine chrome top. In fact, all 3 of the products I'm reviewing will come in the same glass 12 oz bottles so keep that in mind when you are shopping through the Static Nails lacquer.

To me a base coat only has a few things it needs to be in order to be effective: easy to apply with a smooth formula, dries quickly so I don't have any down time when I'm painting my nails, and adhere my polishes to my nails until I'm ready to remove them. Bonus if they prevent staining!

This one checked almost all of the boxes for me. Their base coat has a nice formula that you don't need a lot of and it glides on super easily. It was dry enough to be good to go by the time I was ready for my first coat of polish and there were no issues applying my polish coats. Sometimes if the base isn't dry enough it can cause dragging or unsightly streaks, but this didn't present any issues. Lastly, the polish definitely didn't peel or anything like that before I was ready to remove it. Static Nails lacquer don't cause staining so I haven't tested that but if I ever experience it, I'll definitely come back and do an update.

TLDR: the base coat dried quickly and kept polish on my nails; therefore it worked beautifully! Yay!

Top Coat - Photo from

Let's look at their top coat next. What I look for in a top coat is: dries quickly, applies easily and doesn't ruin nail art and/or drag the polish underneath, doesn't shrink, has a glassy and smooth finish if it's a glossy top coat, is self-leveling, and lasts for the duration of my mani.

Their top coat is called Top Coat (no nonsense ๐Ÿ˜). The brush made the application super easy and the top coat formula just glided so nicely! They don't call their lacquer liquid glass for nothing! I am always so impressed when I use their polishes how glassy and smooth everything feels. As with other top coats, I would recommend 2 coats over any textured polish to smooth it out.

As far as shine was concerned, it definitely gave a beautiful glassy shine to my mani once it fully dried. After the second day, I did start noticing that the shine was going away more so on my dominant hand just from normal everyday stuff, but because the formula dried down nice and thin, I just washed my hands, towel dried and then applied a second coat of top coat to bring back the shine since I had no other wear on my nails. I added the top coat to both hands as I didn't want to look lopsided ๐Ÿ˜… Worked like a charm and it was like I had a fresh new mani!

The dry time was fairly decent - within 15 mins for a fully dried mani. I'm use to a quick dry top coat but for one that isn't claiming to be quick dry, 15 mins is pretty good! It self-leveled pretty nicely as well.

As a content creator, I don't usually keep polish on for more than 3 days (usually if I'm going away for a weekend), and in those 3 days, I will see shrinkage, chips, peeling, etc but I saw none of that with this top coat. I have also heard from others who have the base and top coat from Static Nails and they swear by them; I can see why!

TLDR: Top Coat is glassy, smooth, doesn't cause shrinkage, self-levels and lasts!

Quick Dry Drops  - Photo from

And lastly we have the new Quick Dry Drops that I just launched in November. Here is what the company had to say about these drops:

It’s like accident forgiveness for your manicure. Apply Static Nails Quick Dry Drops after painting your nails to protect your freshly painted mani from scratches, smudges, and chips while instantly cutting down dry time. This antioxidant-rich formula also increases shine while strengthening nails and nourishing cuticles with each drop. Unlike others, Static Nails custom formulated dry drops are non-greasy or sticky and will not cause your manicure to chip faster.

I had honestly never used any quick dry drops before so this was a whole new experience for me. When Static Nails asked if I wanted to try it, I was definitely excited to but had no idea what to expect. It comes in the same bottle as their normal sized nail polishes but instead of a brush, it comes with a little glass eye dropper.

Once I finished laying down my top coat, I immediately did 1 drop on each nail of the quick drops. I know it says to use more, but I have pretty small nails so I only needed 1 drop to cover my whole nail. ๐Ÿ˜„

It was very runny so it ran all over my wet nails and down onto the skin around my nails. It gave it a shiny look but within a few minutes, I touched my nails and they were dry! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Not only that, once the drops fully dried, it made my cuticles and the skin it touched looked so nice and hydrated. I thought I'd have to eventually wipe it off or something but nope! It completely absorbed into my skin making my hands look super nice and healthy and it felt that way too! Are all drops made like this?! ๐Ÿ˜

TLDR: the drops dried my mani within a few mins and left my skin feeling hydrated and healthy! Definitely recommend!

Because the polish was so beautiful, I kept this mani on for 5 days! 5! I don't remember the last time I even kept on nail polish for more than 3 days. ๐Ÿ˜† But here is the 5 day update:

And here is a side-by-side:

Other than the typical growth, the mani is still gorgeous! No chips, no wear, nothing even remotely looking like a ruined mani. I didn't do anything extra that I don't normally do. In fact, I feel like I washed my hands more this past week and used more lotion/cream because of the cold/dry weather so I would have thought it would have lifted/chipped but I stand corrected. Other than the refresh of the top coat, I did nothing else to the mani, no touch ups of any kind.

Now I know I do get this stuff as PR, and people are going to be skeptical as I am of other people when they talk up their PR stuff, but honestly, I wouldn't just say it was a good product if it truly didn't work for me. I would 1000% recommend trying this brand if you get the opportunity to. If you're tired of manis chipping within a few days, you will love this combo. ๐Ÿ˜Š

For reference, I did nothing else different in my application; I washed my hands, use some nail polish remover to get rid of any other dirt/debris on my nails, and then went from there on my usual routine of 1 base coat, 2 polish coats and 1 top coat with the addition of the drops.

Final thoughts: I am blown away by this brand. The lacquers are so nice! The colours, the finishes, the formulas, the brushes, the top and base coat; they are all so awesome - I just have no other words. And the drops worked so well! I can tell this whole system is going to be my go-to for when I need a mani to last - hands down.

Well there you have it! I don't really get to write a lot of review type blogs so this was a nice change of pace. I didn't get a lot of nail things done this past week since I kept this mani on for so long (5 days is a long time for me ๐Ÿ˜‚) but hopefully it was helpful for some of you!๐Ÿ˜Š

As always, thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to check out my little corner ๐Ÿ˜Š Feel free to leave me comments/suggestions/feedback below.
