Essie - Virgin Snow Winter 2015 Collection - Swatches/Review
Essie seasons come sooner than the real seasons, but I'm ok with that :)
And it's time for the Essie Virgin Snow Winter 2015 Colletion swatches and review!
I have been buying these collections just for the sole purpose of sharing them with you guys so I hope you like my pictures! :)
When I saw that the winter collection was out, I just had to have it! I really do appreciate how gorgeous the Essie polishes are and most of the darker cremes are usually one coaters even though I photograph with two. This collection is so pretty to look at and has a range of colours to suite everyone.
Let's get to the pictures!
Apres-Chic: an awesome metallic silver
Shall We Chalet?: a gorgeous deep red creme that could be worn in one coat but my swatch has two
Virgin Snow: a super soft lilac creme
Haute Tub: a black creme with purple metallic fine glitters, another one coater that I used two coats for
You can really see the purple glitters in person and in this bottle shot |
Altitude Attitude: a bright pink leaning red, another one coater that I'm showing as two
Such a gorgeous shade!
Peak Show: a beautiful soft pink, shown here in three coats
My favourite from this collection - definitely a shade you can wear year-round
And that's it for this collection! I really like that a lot of the colours can be worn any time of the year and that some of them are easy one coaters. I did read that they might glow in the dark? Or do something in dimmer lighting but I never experienced that myself so I didn't try to take any pictures in a darker setting. But either way, the colours are gorgeous and in true Essie fashion.
I hope you enjoyed my pictures and if you do decide to pick up this collection, let me know below which one is your favourite. Or which one(s) you plan on getting. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm so glad you liked them :)
Deletebeautiful pictures! Love this collection! I think my favourite is the Virgin Snow :D
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think the collection is fabulous too, and Virgin Snow is SO PRETTY! :)
DeleteBeautiful swatches! I love Virgin Snow even though I have a million lavender polishes! LOL I love how soft it is! I agree it's an "any time of year" collection. Thanks again :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! A million lavender just isn't enough! ;) This one is super super pretty - if you are into soft lavender, this one is definitely something you'll want to have. :)
DeleteYour swatches are just beautiful! I really love this collection! But isn't 'Shall We Chalet' similar to 'With the band' from the leggy legend collection?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! They are similar but Shall We Chalet is actually darker, where as With the Band is a bit brighter/warmer :) I hope that helps! I had to look at the swatches and polishes side by side too but that's what I've concluded. They are similar though!
DeleteLovely swatches! These are the first I've seen, so thanks for sharing. :) I bought Haute Tub and Altitude Attitude. I really wanted Peak Show but skipped it because essie formulas on really pale pinks aren't always the best. How is this one? True creme, or slightly crelly?
ReplyDeleteThank you! And you're welcome! :) Excellent choices! I find that with most brands, either the light cremes are really thick and not nice to work with, or they are a bit runnier and requires a second thicker coat to get it even. This one was a bit tricky to work with but with a good top coat, it levels out. I had to use a thicker second coat to get the opacity though. Definitely slightly crelly. Hope that helps! :)
DeleteHello!
DeleteIs it more jelly than the light colored Essie bridal 2015 ones? Thank you!
It's about the same to me :)
DeleteWoah gorgeous! I love this whole collection and you did great swatches!
ReplyDeleteIt's a stunning collection right? And thanks so much! :D
DeleteBeautiful swatches!! All the colours look really nice!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! The colours are fabulous :)
DeleteReally great swatches. I bought one of these colors (Shall We Chalet?) based on this post. Keep up the great work! I'm bookmarking your site.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Don't you just love it? I think it has to be one of my all time favourite reds - the dark undertones are so flattering :)
DeleteReally good swatches. I bought Altitude Attitude and Virgin Snow. Great work on the pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteIsn't frock n' roll and haute tub kind of like the same color? Also, what essie color (any color from essie, not just from the winter collection) do you recommend for this time of the year (November) ? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty similar except that Haute Tub has the purple flashes along with the silver glitters. :) I love the dark reds (Shall We Chalet? being one of them) for November transitioning into December. I feel like it's subdued enough for the cool temperatures but still gives a pop of colour. Thanks!!
DeleteLove your swatches so much, they made me look for Shall we Chalet?. I got a three mini kit with Shall We Chalet? Haute Tub and Virgin Snow. What strikes me as weird is that the Virgin Snow that I got is more lilac that the one you show. I bought mine in Belgium, so I was wondering if there's some kind of difference between the USA manufactured Essies and the European ones (Essie is made in France for the European market)
ReplyDeleteStill very pretty colours that I will use gladly

I'm so glad you liked my swatches! Thank you :) Virgin Snow is more lilac in person, it was hard for my camera to pick it up though. It's a pretty soft lilac :) I hope you will enjoy them!
DeleteI have Peak Show. So pretty, fresh, and clean. My mom hates it. She thinks it is ghastly and makes my hands look dirty. hmmmmm.....
ReplyDeleteSome polishes can be hard to pull off and can definitely garner some interesting opinions lol - I do love Peak Show too though! :)
Deletelove your nails. Question, is there one like haut tub but with silver glitter? thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm actually not sure if there is one like that but if I come across it I'll definitely put it up on my blog :D
