WNAC - Holo Splatter Nail Art

I kind of like splatter nail art :D
When we first decided to do this prompt as part of our WNAC for October, I internally groaned because I am just not a fan of messy nail art. lol. Mostly because I hate the clean up portion of it. I try not to do anything that will excessively dry out my hands/cuticles and having to use acetone to clean up is one of those things I just don't like doing, so I'm always trying to figure out ways on how to make messy nail art less messy. :D

I came up with a cool splattered look using the straw with some nail polish around the edge and rolling it onto the nail, if that makes sense at all. The "splatter" came out a little more uniform than if I had actually done it with the splatter technique, but I still love the outcome anyway.

I actually made a decal because I was attempting to splatter with polish but it wouldn't splatter so I went with the rolling technique instead. Once the decal dried, I cut them into strips and stuck them to my black holo base. I then added the gold striping tape to each side of the decal for some clean lines and then top coated everything. Voila! Easy peasy and not messy at all!

If ever I can bring myself to it, I'll start making some videos :)

I actually really like the design! I hope you do too! :)

Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to check out my little corner :) Feel free to leave me comments/suggestions/feedback below.

  1. I hate messy nail art too. That's the main reason why I've never tried splatter nail art. What a creative way to do splatter now I have to give it a go!
