Pink/Navy Gradient Leaves

How's about a gradient mani just for kicks? :D

I haven't quite gotten the hang of gradients - I've been practicing a lot. It's not that I"m horrible at it I don't think, but it's not quite transitioning as smooth as I'd like it to be just yet. :)

I decided to work on some gradients and here is what came of it. I usually just do whatever I feel like, I'm not good at planning my designs, I like to just do whatever comes to me in that moment.

I gravitate towards simpler/cleaner designs and I think this encompasses me very well. I've always loved drawing leaves and the fact that I was able to incorporate some bling in there definitely did not hurt at all :D

I started off by painting one coat of pink on all of my nails. Once dried, I applied a liquid latex around my nails before doing the gradient with the pink and navy polishes. Once I got the gradient sponged to how I liked it, I top coated it and then took off the liquid latex.

I then used a white acrylic paint and a striping brush to draw the leaves.

Lastly I used Mirrorball by Orly to fill in the leaves and placed some of the gliters around the leaves.

One last coat of top coat to seal it all in and voila! You're done! :)

My designs are never very difficult so that's why I've never really bothered with tutorials but if you do have questions, please leave them and I will get back to you.

That's all I have today! I hope you like this design as much as I do! :)

Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to check out my little corner :) Feel free to leave me comments/suggestions/feedback below.

  1. I really like this design, I love the gradient and the leafy decoration. It reminds me a little of the reverse stamping technique effect the way you've coloured the leaves. You've made me want to get my brushes out and start practising! :)
